Book Description from Back Cover

PON! PON! PON! PON! Three unexpected visitors pound on the door of our young narrator's home. They have just seen ghosts-dozens of them-in Farmer Tanaka's field!

Papa decides he and his son should investigate. As they trudge through the darkness, the boy's apprehension and fear increase as the fog grows denser and the woo-o-o-o, woo-o-o-o, woo-o-o-o of the ghosts grows louder. Closer and still closer they go ... until the surprising identity of the ghosts is revealed.

Set in a Japanese American farming community in the 1920s, this humorous ghost story is sure to find a special place in the hearts of children who struggle to overcome their fears. Winner of Lee & Low's New Voices Award Honor, Ghosts for Breakfast is a tasty morsel for all.
