Background on the Author and Illustrators

Cynthia Chin-Lee is the author of three other children's books, including A Is for Asia, named one of the Best 100 American Children's Books of the Century by Ruminator Review. She lives in Palo Alto, California, with her husband and two children.

Megan Halsey has illustrated more than 30 books for children, including 3 Pandas Planting, which she also wrote. She has illustrated several Anne Rockwell titles, including Becoming Butterflies, which earned Megan one of two Oppenheim Toy Newsletter Gold awards. Megan teaches children's book design and illustration in the Independent Study Master's Degree Program at Marywood University in Scranton. She lives with her husband in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania.

Sean Addy received his B.F.A. from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. His illustrations have appeared in many papers and magazines and most recently in children's books. Sean lives in Port Jervis, New York, with his wife and two sons. Megan and Sean met at Pratt Institute, where they admired each other's artwork and soon became friends.
