Book Description from the Front Cover Flap

The children in China and East Asia have been entertained for many centuries by wonderful legends, myths, and fables. Collected here are twelve favorites, adapted for younger readers, and brightly illustrated by young Asian and American artists. Some of the stories are well-known myths, such as Li Chi Slays the Serpent, and Peacock with the Fiery Tail, which have become an important part of Chinese mythology. Others are fables, such as Tiger Finds a Teacher, and The Block Bear and the Fox, which rival Aesop in their clever lessons. All will entertain and enlighten readers East and West, young and old.
