Background on Ben Fong-Torres
Ben Fong-Torres joined Rolling Stone magazine as an editor and writer shortly after graduating from San Francisco State University. He has published five books, including Not Fade Away, his first compilation of favorite articles, and Hickory Wind, a biography of Gram Parsons. An Emmy-winning broadcaster, Fong-Torres writes the radio column for the San Francisco Chronicle. In 2000 he was depicted in the Cameron Crowe film Almost Famous.
