Her many children's books have included three collaborations with her father, the poet Paul Coltman. One of them, Tinker Jim, was shortlisted for the Smarties Award and another, Tog the Ribber, received a Smarties shortlisting and was Highly Commended for the Kate Greenaway Award. Selkie won the US Parent's Guide to Children's Media Award. Her first book for Frances Lincoln, Mario's Angels, was about the artist Fra Angelico and written by Mary Arrigan. Gillian currently holds a Royal Literary Fund Fellowship at Kent University. She has represented UK children's writers and illustrators at international conferences and regularly visits schools and libraries, where she tells stories with puppets and shows original artwork. |
