Background on Mina Harada Eimon
Mina Harada Eimon was born in Tokyo, Japan, and grew up in Poland and Singapore. She received degrees in Visual Arts and Comparative Literature from Brown University, and has also studied at Rhode Island School of Design.
Her children's books revolve around themes of cross-cultural communication and exchange, often with an appearance by whimsical animal characters--a tribute to her love for animals. Mina's other books include a Japanese folk tale called Why Cats Chase Mice: A story of the Twelve Zodiac Signs.
Mina is also active with the Japanese American community in the San Francisco Bay Area where she makes her home.
