Hello AACP Newsletter Blog Readers.

We have the May newsletter linked to this page now.

Our first article is a look at an important book (Leaving Paradise: Indigenous Hawaiians in the Pacific Northwest, 1787-1898).

Our second article (The China Trade and the Mystery of the First Chinese in the United States) is about the first recorded Asians on the East Coast of the United States.

If you like learning about AAPI history, please read these articles.

The featured books list includes a special selection for LGBT Pride Month. Have a look.

I’m writing this the day before the Asian American Alliance of Marin’s Celebration of AAPI Heritage event. It’s at the Multicultural Center of Marin on 709 Fifth Ave, San Rafael, CA 94901.

AAAM has a schedule for their event currently on their website. Have a look.

Hope to see you there.

------------

There’s a great interview with author Gene Yang (American Born Chinese) on the NPR radio program Ted Radio Hour. You can find it using this link.

------------

Please join us for a memorial service for Florence and Mas Hongo, two of the most important people to AACP, next Saturday (June 24, 11am at Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s Funeral Home, 977 S El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA).

------------

Have a good summer. Hope to see you at some upcoming event or at our store.

Bye.
