Hello AACP Blog Readers.

I hope you’re having a great Thanksgiving Weekend!

If you’re not a subscriber to our newsletter, you can now see the October 2023 Newsletter by click on this link.

Our October newsletter has an interview with filmmaker David Brodie about his fascinating documentary, The Volunteer, on Vietnam War veteran Bruce Nakashima. If you have a chance to see the film, don’t pass it up. Until then, please read our interview.

Our other article is a book review on the book “Let’s Make Dumplings.” It’s not only a review, but a great example of what you can do for us – give us your feedback on AAPI books.

We’ve featured lots of food related books in this month’s special book selection. If you’re still in the mood for cooking and eating, this selection is well worth checking out. Remember that cookbooks also make great gifts. There’s lot to learn about food culture.

If you’re doing your shopping online this weekend, please especially check out our bookshop.org site. Bookshop.org is having free shipping all weekend (through Monday 11/27/23). If you haven’t tried out bookshop.org yet, this is a wonderful time to do so. If you’re looking for additional holiday savings and suggestions at bookshop.org, first go to our bookshop.org landing page then click on the “Click here” link in the beige banner at the top. By going to our bookshop.org landing page first, your purchases will be credited to AACP. We thank you very much for your support.

If you are in San Francisco on December 3, there’s the Howard Zinn Book Fair at the City College of San Francisco’s Mission Center campus (1125 Valencia St.). We’re not participating in this year’s fair, but if you go, let us know if you think we should in future years.

For Small Business Saturday (11/25/23), we're having a sale at our store (529 E 3rd Ave.). Drop by and check it out.

Thanks for reading.

Bye.
