October is Filipino American History month, as such we have an article about Larry Ramos, member of the folk group The New Christy Minstrels and pop/rock group The Association. Larry Ramos is also the first Asian American to have won a Grammy Award for his collaborative work on The New Christy Minstrels’ first album.

A note for our email subscribers that may have read this article when it first came out – I added a few link at the end including some more YouTube videos of Larry Ramos’ performances. Definitely worth checking out.

If you are in the Seattle area, it’s not too late to catch a series of programs at the Seattle Main Library honoring the 100th birthday of author John Okada. Have a look at the press release for the programs.
