As mentioned in the newsletter interview with Mc Canlas, there’s a parol lantern making workshop this Friday (Dec. 3 at 1-3pm and 3-5pm) and Saturday (Dec. 4 at 1-3pm and 3-5pm) at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts - Grand Lobby.

This is a great annual San Francisco Christmas tradition that had to go virtual last year. This year, they’ve returned to in person workshops and for the Parol Lantern Festival itself (Dec. 11, 4-8pm, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts).

If you can’t make it to one of the workshops, try making one at home. Here’s a link to their parol making page. I think I’ll give it a try. I’ll post a picture if it comes out alright :).
