Hello AACP Blog readers.

For subscribers to the AACP email newsletter, if you read the article “Favorite Children’s Books of the Year” right after I sent it out, you may have missed the list of additional books that were added at the end of the article. Please check the article out. You’ll see a total of ten books that we believe are worthy of your attention.

Another book that I believe everyone should check out is “I Am an American: The Wong Kim Ark Story.” Wong Kim Ark’s Supreme Court case helped clarify birth rights citizenship in the United States. “I Am an American” sheds light on Wong Kim Ark the person, not just the court case.

If we had a list of favorite children’s books based on real people, this would definitely be near the top.

Be sure to also read our interview with children’s book author Mina Harada Eimon and check out our featured book selection which has some suggestions for gift giving.

One last thing that I wanted to mention in our newsletter that I didn’t get in is that our store will be open on Saturday the 10th and 17th from 10:30am to 5pm. We have not decided on the 24th yet.
