Hello AACP Newsletter Blog Readers.

I can’t believe January 2024 is almost done. Seems like we were just celebrating Christmas and New Years.

We did get the emailed version of the January newsletter out earlier this month. If you haven’t seen it yet, click here.

We have two author interviews in this January’s newsletter. The first interview is with author and poet Frances Kakugawa. We discuss her new books, “Can I Have Your Pearl Bracelet?” and “Wordsworth the Haiku Teacher,” plus she shares a poem with us for this special poetry edition of our newsletter. Can I Have Your Pearl Bracelet? is much more than a memoir. It’s shared wisdom and remembrances, and things that the author wanted to say as she enters the late part of her life. If I had as interesting of a life, I’d love to write such a marvelous book some day.

For our second interview we have one of the founders of the Asian American Writers’ Workshop, Curtis Chin. We discuss his new memoir “Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant.”

Frances and Curtis’ books are wonderful and we hope you’ll find our interviews with them interesting too.

For our featured books, we have ten Lunar New Year titles and nine poetry books.

This month we’re trying something new, we added some short descriptions for the books. You can see these descriptions if you hover your mouse cursor over the book covers.
