Hello AACP Newsletter Blog Readers.
We’ve been busy with event and event planning and haven’t had a chance to update our blog. Sorry about that.
For those of you that aren’t subscribers to the newsletter, you can read the February newsletter by click here. We hope to have the March newsletter sent out to our subscribers within the next ten days.
In my editor’s message for the February newsletter, I forgot to have a link that went straight to our article “Lunar New Year Celebrations from the Past.” It’s about two newspaper references to Chinese New Year celebrations that happened in the 1850s in San Francisco. The cultural practices of Chinese in America 160 plus years ago seems to have some interesting differences from today’s practices.
Please also check out our featured book selection. We have eight books related to the Japanese American World War II Internment experience. We also have a wonderful children’s book selection that includes a books on Nowruz and Holi. Nowruz just ended the other day on the 19th and Holi is still coming up on the 25th.
For those of you that observe Ramadan (March 10 to April 9 in the United States), Marhaban Ya Ramadan (Indonesian) and Ramadan Mubarak.
That’s all for now.
Have a Happy Spring Everyone!
Leonard Chan
